Cassi + Bronson {Lafayette, LA Wedding} - Part OneThis Lafayette, Louisiana wedding was nothing short of amazing. Back in August of 2014, Cassi + Bronson tied the knot at LARC's Acadian Village...which happens to be one of the best kept secrets of the city. It is such a lovely venue that has a unique way of tying in the old with the new. Why am I just now blogging on the subject? It is a tricky little thing called time management. I don't always do well with it and I especially never want to be rushed when making these blog posts. A hurry up and do it attitude doesn't sit well with me. I want to be particular and heartfelt with every word I write. Cassi is such an amazing young woman. Her sweet little southern smile is enough to melt your heart before she even speaks. I spent much of their prep time with her and her girls and the room was filled to the roof with love...and surprises. You see, these girls were scheming up all kinds of once in a lifetime moments for her wedding day. The first was a gorgeous and princess status horse/carriage combo that sent her into the biggest jumps and leap I have ever seen a bride accomplish in her wedding attire. Girl can jump! Haha. Bronson surely does know how to make his girl blush with love and send her into a hysteric of laughter. They opted to do a non-first look and Cassi by all means had to be the one to blind fold him, which I thought was totally cute. They talked and laughed off all the nervous jitters and I could see the relief flowing from her face. The time I spent with the groomsmen was certainly a huge amount of ridiculous fun. Grooms always seem to enjoy all the minutes before the wedding and these guys in particular loved a photo shoot. I really can't complain when guys give me crazy suggestions for photos because I am thinking to myself...you are going to let me photograph that? SWEET, let's do it! After all of the pre-ceremony fun was over, I headed on to the quaint and charming little chapel. It's rustic and intimate, allowing you to have the utmost important guests in attendance. I know the craze recently has been huge, over the top weddings; but this small and casual chapel just did it for me. Everyone there paid attention and there were no distractions. The second little pick me up (surprise) was the one that had me in tears at the front of the aisle. Her mom's dad (Cassi's grandfather) is in an assisted living facility and every one knew before hand that he would not be able to make the journey to the wedding. Cue the surprise element. I actually had no idea they were unaware of his attendance until Cassi's mom was being escorted down the aisle. I went through my usual pre-walk suggestions on when to stop for a photo. That moment came and her mom started crying and covered her face with her purse...I was like WHAT is going on? I look over and saw her dad right next to me and quickly figured out they had NO clue he was going to be there. Cassi exampled her mother's reaction and it tugged at all the heartstrings. I was balling. Grandparents are SUCH an incredible component in our lives and I was just overcome with happiness that she was able to have him with her on her wedding day. I recently lost my grandmother and my heart aches for my little brother that won't be able to have her there at his upcoming wedding. The idea that she now has these photographs of her grandfather and the family all together just takes me to the happiest place. I hope you all enjoy the first part of their wedding day and the high energy reception will be coming shortly...
