reminisce with a purpose...rem·i·nisce/ˌreməˈnis/verb: to indulge in an enjoyable recollection of past events Synonyms: remember, recollect, travel down memory lane, etc
now here is a blog post worth reading folks. i cannot imagine my life without reminiscing. it is actually more important (in my little opinion anyway) to me than actually creating memories. a memory is only as good as the feeling you get when you recall it. (you can go ahead and quote me on that, it's real good isn't it?) i have had the pleasure of experiencing many things in my life thus far. to name a few: joy, sadness, love, hate, failure, more failure, success, more success, triumph, set backs, discipline, freedom, scents, feelings, more love, marriage, trust, independence, dependence, bad bad bad choices, good good good choices. why so hot and cold with my examples? well, that is because every negative thing i have done or experienced in my life has led me to do the right things and thus, made a positive impact on my life. when you are happy, you can make others happy. it is really that simple even though it seems so difficult to see at times. i would like for everyone to reminisce on a time or place in their life that has made them smile and hug it tightly, don't let it go, and cherish it forever. we never know when things won't go our way or when God will present challanges to us that seem impossible to overcome; but reminiscing is an easy way to turn a frown upside down :) this is what makes my job so dang incredible. i get to make these little things called photographs great memories for people to reminisce on. i can only hope that people can remember the little details of their session when they see their images. like how flowers in a planter made a little girl forget she was crying. or the idea of making m + m out of the leaves on the ground seemed like a great one until the wind decided to not be a friend and mess it up; which made us all laugh. or how silly a bride felt walking with her dress wrapped in a sheet to keep it from not getting stained. how pigeons and crows could make a two year old little boy completely stop in his tracks in awe of all the birds in jackson square. i mean, there are so many memories i have to cherish from my sessions and i am not even in the photos. i want to make all my clients feel special and have stories to tell when they look at their photos. this is a great opportunity for me and i will never take my creativity for granted; being behind the camera and the computer all comes natural to me. it is one of the most thrilling unexplainable things i have ever felt! it truly is love and passion. in life, love is the one thing that will remain a constant at any age. the love of your mother, your father, your spouse, your sister, your brother, your pet, your friends, your daughter, your son, your in-laws, your whole family, your job, your hobbies, YOURSELF! take the time to love everything and everyone in your life, including yourself. this blog post is for me to share some of my favorite personal images from life that i will never forget and all have to do with love. there are so many things in life to appreciate and i can't wait to find the next one!
cheers to life. love. and the pursuit of happiness....it all starts with you!
